Plenty was happening. Finding it was the problem.
It started with a night out in Manchester, a city I think of as my spiritual home thanks to a misspent youth.
We wanted something intimate. A cosy band, a bit of piano, maybe a drink and a bite to eat. All we could find were big-ticket events.
Later we realised there had been twenty gigs within a stone's throw of where we were standing in the Northern Quarter. We just had no way of knowing about any of them.
It isn't only audiences. Artists struggle to get bookings and don't hear about venues outside their patch. Venues are hungry for fresh talent and need people through the door.
So we asked a simple question: what if you could tell an app what kind of night you wanted, and discover it around you?
